What Can You Expect During Your Initial Assessment
▪️You'll be asked to arrive 5-10 minutes early to each appointment to ensure you have enough time to check in and complete the intake paperwork without sacrificing any of the scheduled appointment time.
▪️Shortly after your arrive, I'll come greet you in the waiting area and we'll head to the private treatment room to begin the assessment. It's important that you feel comfortable - if at any time you have questions or concerns, please let me know immediately.
▪️The assessment consists of two main parts: the subjective exam and the objective exam.
▪️The subjective exam is where I'll ask you questions related to your injury, medical history, goals, and anything else that may be pertinent to your rehab. You don't have to answer any question you don't feel comfortable with, but each question is asked to better be able to treat you.
▪️The objective exam is where we will assess your injury and the body parts around it. This examination may look at things such as strength, range of motion, nerve health, and or tests specific to your injury or concern.
▪️With each assessment, the goal is to ensure that some time is also spent on treatment and in most instances, this is able to occur. However, depending on the complexity of your injury or concern, it's possible that the first session may be all or primarily devoted to the assessment.
▪️In either case, each subsequent session will be devoted primarily to treatment based interventions with the occasional re-assessment to ensure we are optimizing your rehab plan.

Q: Where are you located?
A: LivWell Integrated Health in Squamish, BC 🇨🇦 Check out the contact section for more information on where you can find me
Q: What should I wear to my physio sessions?
A: It's ideal if you wear athletic clothing and footwear that allows you to move freely. This gives us both a better idea if your rehab plan will work for you & also allows better access to the injured area for examination and observation than if you are wearing tight or restrictive clothing.
Q: Do you use Shockwave?
A: Yes, I offer shockwave therapy. Shockwave therapy uses sound waves to promote healing in many sub-acute and chronic conditions. Common conditions treated include: tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, frozen shoulder, joint stiffness and many more. While it is not a replacement for exercise rehab, it can be an excellent supplementary piece of your rehab similar to manual therapy.
Q: How much do you charge for treatment sessions?
A: It will vary somewhat depending on the treatment. However, at this time, costs for common treatments are as follows: Initial Assessment for complex or multiple body areas/concerns (60 minutes) - $140 Initial Assessment for one body area or concern (45 minutes) - $115 Follow-Up Treatment (~30 minutes) - $90 Climbing Performance Assessment (~1 hour) - $140 Climbing Performance Follow-Up (~30 minutes) - $90
Q: Is physio only helpful if I'm injured?
A: No! While physio is extremely helpful for helping you rebound from an injury, it can also be used for helping to decrease general soreness, mitigating future injury risk, and helping you to move/feel better!
Q: How can physio help me?
A: The great thing about physio is there isn't just one way it can help. If you're injured, we can figure out what's wrong & design a plan together that will get you back to where you want to be. Physio is also great for mitigating injury risk, improving athletic performance, and developing strategies to maximize your day to day activities.
Q: What happens during a climbing performance assessment?
A climbing performance assessment is a thorough examination of your climbing related strengths and weaknesses. To do this, we will chat about things like your climbing goals and barriers to training, and then we'll perform physical assessments using objective measurements & standardized tests such as finger strength testing. At the end of the assessment, we will identify the primary areas of relative weakness that may be restricting your progress in climbing and get you started on a training program that addresses these findings to help make next season your send season.
Do you Design performance training programs?
Yes! More about this coming soon on the website. In the meantime, feel free to contact me to learn more.
